Les Cordes Résonnantes Pays Tribute to the 70th Anniversary of the Baalbeck International Festival

August 06, 2026

We are pleased to announce that the musical ensemble Les Cordes Résonnantes has independently created a performance in tribute to the 70th anniversary of the Baalbeck International Festival.

Entitled “Wayna Nay?!”, this original production was funded by the Municipality of Ajaltoun and held under the high patronage of the Ministry of Culture. The initiative was born from the musicians’ desire to celebrate the Festival’s rich artistic and human legacy and to pay tribute to the profound place it holds in Lebanon’s cultural memory.

The organizers have invited the Friends of the Baalbeck International Festival to attend “Wayna Nay?!”, which will be presented on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., at the Grand Square of Ajaltoun.

The Baalbeck International Festival Committee was deeply moved by this initiative. In support of this tribute, the Committee opened its archives to help accompany and enrich this work of remembrance.

This initiative serves as a reminder that the Baalbeck International Festival is far more than a cultural event. It is a national heritage that belongs to all Lebanese people. For seventy years, the Festival has brought people together, inspired generations, and transcended geographical, political, and communal boundaries through the universal language of art and music.

To see artists, on their own initiative, choosing to keep this memory alive is a gesture of profound symbolic significance. It reflects the deep attachment inspired by the Festival and the important place it occupies in the collective memory of the Lebanese people.
