Preserving the cultural archive of the Baalbeck International Festival

In the context of preserving the cultural archive of the Baalbek International Festival, a cooperation agreement was signed on January 27, 2020, between the “Phoenix” Center for Lebanese Studies at the Holy Spirit University – Kaslik represented by Father Joseph Moukarzel and the Baalbek International Festival represented by its President Mrs. Nayla de Freige,  in the presence of members of the Baalbek Festivals Committee.

 

The agreement aims to preserve, classify, digitize the huge archive documenting which is an important stage in Lebanon’s cultural history that dates back to the foundation date of the festival in the year 1956 when the Roman  Temples started to embrace the oldest and most prestigious cultural event in the Middle East.

 

Then everyone toured the Archives and Digital Photography section, in addition to the Manuscript Restoration Center and the various sections of the public library.
